Liverpool have been keeping tabs on Chicago Fire forward Jhon Duran, according to Colombian journalist Pipe Sierra.
The reporter claims the same scout that watched Luis Diaz has been tracking Duran, who only moved from his homeland to the United States earlier this year:
🚨 The same #Liverpool scout who followed Luis Díaz has gone to see Jhon Jáder Durán (18). ‘The Reds’ already know the conditions and that for €10M #ChicagoFire would let the Colombian go 🇨🇴

At 18 years of age, Duran is just starting out in his career, and fans on Twitter would much prefer Liverpool recruit older players, who could have an immediate impact on the first team:
Keep him there we don’t need a striker

Play our own 18 y/os? 🚫
Spend millions on 18y/is from someone else? ✅

Can he play right back or midfield right now? If not, don’t bother.

Duran has certainly looked impressive during his early outings in MLS, having scored eight goals and contributed five assists in 26 appearances so far.
As Sierra mentions, though, Chicago Fire are believed to have already slapped an asking price of around €10m (£8.7m) on the teenager so that could prove to be a stumbling block if the Reds decide to go ahead with an offer for the player. For the time being, though, it appears that the Merseyside club will maintain a watching brief.
