Keita And Nunez To Start, Elliott On The Bench: Liverpool’s Predicted XI To Face City

Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp will have a number of senior players missing for the Carabao Cup tie against Manchester City due to their participation in the World Cup.

However, there are still plenty of first-team stars to fill the void as the Reds look to secure their passage through to the quarter-finals of the competition.

Caoimhin Kelleher will start in goal, with Calvin Ramsay and Alex Robertson likely to be selected in the two fullback positions. Joel Matip and Joe Gomez could line up in the centre of defence.

Klopp has a number of options to choose from in midfield, but he may opt to start Stefan Bajcetic as the number 6, with Naby Keita and Thiago either side of him. Harvey Elliott and Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain could have to settle for a place on the bench.

Up front, Roberto Firmino is expected to play through the middle, with Darwin Nunez on the left wing and Mo Salah on the opposite flank.

Liverpool’s Predicted XI To Take On Manchester City:

Kelleher, Ramsay, Matip, Gomez, Robertson, Thiago, Bajcetic, Keita, Salah, Firmino, Nunez
