Former Arsenal defender Martin Keown believes Liverpool will win the Premier League title if they beat Everton tomorrow.

The Merseyside derby is arguably the toughest away fixture the Reds have left this season and Keown thinks it could be a crucial three points if they secure victory:

“For Liverpool, the most important match is Sunday’s Merseyside derby. Win, and I believe they will be champions.”

There will be nine games to go after the Everton game so it’s too early to call whether a win at Goodison Park would prove decisive.

Jurgen Klopp’s men still have to play Chelsea and Tottenham at home during the run-in so it’s unlikely to be plain sailing for Liverpool.

However, a win over their city rivals would be a huge confidence boost, especially with Burnley at home and Fulham away coming before the international break at the end of the month.

In contrast, City still have to go to Manchester United, and face Tottenham at home, before the campaign reaches its conclusion.
