Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp is looking to strengthen the Reds’ squad and he has Barcelona forward Ousmane Dembele “in mind” for his next signing, according to El Desmarques.
The Spanish website claims the Merseyside club could well be lining up a move for the French international and Barca would be open to it, if Liverpool match their €100m (£85m) asking price.
Dembele has been out for several months with a hamstring injury this season and has only played nine games in all competitions.
Barcelona are believed to be happy to let the 22-year-old go as they need to free up funds in order to make another move for Paris Saint-Germain forward Neymar.
Dembele’s injury record would be a major concern for the Reds, though, and considering his hefty price tag, it does seem unlikely that Klopp would want to make a bid for the Frenchman.
Villarreal’s Samuel Chukwueze has also been linked in recent days, and the Nigerian is probably a likelier target considering his lower valuation.
