Klopp Reveals Why He Can’t Enjoy Liverpool’s Title Challenge

Anfield Stadium

Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp says the sheer intensity that comes with masterminding a Premier League title challenge means he’s unable to enjoy the experience.

The German did also comment that he wouldn’t want it to be any other way:

“It’s not the biggest stress in the world, but it’s so intense and so important and all in a short time. Football is not the most important thing in the world, but at these moments, of course, it feels like that because we have nothing else to do. It’s not easy to enjoy but I love what I do.”

The Reds could go seven points clear at the top of the table if they win their game versus Leicester City at Anfield this evening.

Manchester City’s defeat at Newcastle last night would no doubt have given Klopp and his player’s extra motivation to clinch the three points against the Foxes.

Their task could be made harder, though, if Virgil van Dijk doesn’t recover in time from an illness he picked up during a recent trip to Dubai.

The centre-back did train Monday and yesterday but the Dutchman is still said to be under the weather. It could mean that Dejan Lovren comes into the team to play alongside Joel Matip in the centre of defence.
