Latest Liverpool Injury News: Updates On Henderson And Six Others

Anfield Stadium

Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp has confirmed the leg injury that forced captain Jordan Henderson off the pitch in the 4-0 win over Leicester last night is not serious.

The Reds talisman had his shin stamped on by Ayoze Perez, leaving the midfielder in a lot of pain before being replaced by Adam Lallana with eight minutes remaining. However, Klopp doesn’t think he will be sidelined for long:

“Jordan is okay. He got a kick on the shin, it was bleeding afterwards. He said he could have played on!”

Despite Henderson looking like he will be available to face Wolves on Sunday, six others are still out of contention. Joel Matip (knee), Fabinho (ankle) and Dejan Lovren (thigh) are making good progress but it would be a surprise if any of the trio featured this weekend.

Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain is out until the New Year with an ankle problem he sustained in the Club World Cup final win against Flamengo last Saturday. Rhian Brewster (ankle) and Nathaniel Clyne (knee) also remain on the treatment table.
