Latest Liverpool Injury News: Updates On Henderson, Matip, Shaqiri And Salah

Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp has said there are no new injury concerns heading into this evening’s Champions League game against Genk at Anfield.

Joel Matip (knee), Xherdan Shaqiri (calf) and Nathaniel Clyne (knee) are all still on the sidelines, and the Reds boss said nothing his changed since the Aston Villa win on Saturday evening:

“I think [it’s] pretty much as we looked before the last game [against] Aston Villa, nothing really changed. Nobody told me anything. Yesterday in training everybody could do what he had to do, but in this period of the year we know things can happen overnight [but] no, nothing [new] that I know. Everything should be fine.”

Captain Jordan Henderson did cause a scare by missing training yesterday, but it is believed he is in contention to start after taking part in a separate session inside the club’s training base.

Mo Salah’s ankle problem remains a concern. The Egyptian is still suffering with the injury that was caused by Hamza Choudhury in the 2-1 victory against Leicester last month, and he could sit out tonight’s match.

Fabinho did not feature against Villa but that was simply a precaution ahead of the huge game against Manchester City next weekend. The Brazilian is just one yellow card away from an automatic one-match suspension.
