Liverpool midfielder Naby Keita may have tested positive for COVID-19. It is believed that the 25-year-old was one of five players from Guinea’s squad who have the virus, but the Reds have yet to get confirmation regarding this. It means the player is a major doubt for this Saturday’s Merseyside derby.

After missing the 7-2 defeat to Aston Villa for the same reason, Sadio Mane should be back in contention after having the best part of two weeks to self-isolate and recover.

In terms of actual injuries, centre-back Joel Matip could be available for the weekend after missing the start of the season with toe and hamstring problems. Alisson Becker won’t be fit with the Brazilian expected to miss the next month with a shoulder injury.

Kostas Tsimikas’ thigh issue means he remains a doubt for the weekend, while Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain is still undergoing rehab after sustaining a knee injury during preseason.
