Latest Liverpool Injury News: Updates On Matip, Jones, Keita And Alexander Arnold

Liverpool centre-back Joel Matip sustained a head injury during the first half of the 2-0 win over Watford at the weekend.

Despite being bandaged up, the 30-year-old did play the full 90 minutes and manager Jurgen Klopp says that it wasn’t a serious issue despite some swelling and bruising.

Curtis Jones twisted his ankle against the Hornets but he is also likely to be available for the game versus Benfica in the Champions League tomorrow night.

Naby Keita wasn’t in the matchday squad for the Watford game, after picking up a knock to his knee. The midfielder has now returned to training and he is expected to be in the squad that travels to Portugal.

Trent Alexander-Arnold was fit enough to be named among the substitutes on Saturday. The fullback has recovered from a hamstring problem, and he is likely to get some game time against Benfica before facing Manchester City later this week.
