Latest Liverpool Injury News: Updates On Origi, Thiago, Alexander Arnold And Elliott

Liverpool forward Divock Origi did not make the matchday squad for the 2-2 draw against Manchester City last weekend.

The Belgian picked up an illness that prevented him from taking his place on the bench, but he is expected to be back in contention when the Reds face Watford on Saturday week.

Thiago Alcantara’s scheduled comeback from a calf problem is somewhat less certain. No estimated return date was given before the international break but it is hoped he’ll be in contention for the trip to Vicarage Road.

Trent Alexander-Arnold is, though, likely to be available for Liverpool’s next game, with manager Jurgen Klopp expressing confidence that the right-back will have recovered from a groin injury by then.

Harvey Elliott is already back on the exercise bike in the gym less than a month after dislocating his ankle in the 3-0 win over Leeds. The midfielder is expected to return to full fitness in the second half of the season.
