Latest Liverpool Injury News: Updates On Thiago, Alexander Arnold And Keita

Anfield Stadium

Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp has confirmed that midfielder Thiago Alcantara is likely to be sidelined for at least a few more weeks due to a knee problem.

The Spaniard has not broken any bones or ruptured any ligaments but the impact of Richarlison’s challenge in the Merseyside derby last month is still having some impact on his ability to train.

Trent Alexander-Arnold (calf), Naby Keita (hamstring), Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain (knee), Xherdan Shaqiri (knock) and James Milner (hamstring) will be unavailable for the Ajax game tonight.

However, captain Jordan Henderson (hamstring) will be ready to start after playing the second half of the 1-1 draw against Brighton at the weekend.

Virgil van Dijk’s rehabilitation from knee surgery is believed to be going well but currently, there is no expectation that he will return before the end of the season. Joe Gomez (knee) also remains sidelined, although it is expected that the England international will return much earlier.
