Latest Liverpool Injury News: Updates On Tsimikas, Matip And Keita

Anfield Stadium

Liverpool left-back Kostas Tsimikas has now returned to full training after missing the last six weeks with a thigh injury.

The Greek international has only played one game for the Reds since he moved from Olympiakos in the summer but the fullback will now be in contention to rotate with Andy Robertson for upcoming fixtures.

Manager Jurgen Klopp has confirmed Joel Matip is back fit after spending the last two weeks on the sidelines with a muscular problem. Naby Keita is also available following fitness issues that have kept him from playing since the last international break.

Fabinho picked up a hamstring issue in the 2-0 win over FC Midtjylland and is not expected to return for a number of weeks, while Thiago Alcantara is still unavailable after sustaining a knee injury in the Merseyside derby last month.

The rest of Liverpool’s injuries are long-term. Virgil van Dijk has undergone a successful operation following his ACL injury but he is not expected to return this season. There is still no time frame for when Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain will make his comeback from his own knee injury. The 27-year-old has not featured for the Reds this campaign.
