Latest Liverpool Injury Report Ahead Of Tonight’s Game Against Red Star

Liverpool will head into tonight’s game against Red Star without Xherdan Shaqiri who has been left out of the squad for the game.

Manager Jurgen Klopp doesn’t want any distractions ahead of the match with the Swiss international likely to have been the focus of attention at the Marakana.

Shaqiri is of Kosovan/Albanian descent and his Eagle celebration after scoring against Serbia at the World Cup upset a lot of supporters.

In terms of actual injury news, captain Jordan Henderson is again absent. The 28-year-old picked up a hamstring problem against Huddersfield a couple of weeks ago and has missed the last three games.

However, the midfielder is expected to be back in contention to face Fulham at the weekend after he has returned to full training. Nathaniel Clyne is also unavailable for the game in Belgrade. The right-back has an illness and hasn’t travelled.

There is better news on Naby Keita. The Guinean has recovered from a thigh strain which he sustained during the last international break and will be fit to play.

Dejan Lovren is also back in the squad after missing the 1-1 draw against Arsenal on Saturday with a groin injury.
