Latest Liverpool Injury Report: Klopp Provides New Updates On Alexander Arnold, Matip, Van Dijk And Gomez

Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp believes Trent Alexander-Arnold will be back in full training within the “next five to six days”.

The right-back sustained a calf injury in a warm-up match for England ahead of the European Championships but it seems like he will play a full part in preseason for the Reds.

Klopp believes Joel Matip is the “closest” to making a return to action in terms of the centre-backs, with the Cameroon international having completely recovered from ankle ligament damage that kept him out for the second half of last season.

Fans would have seen pictures of both Virgil van Dijk and Joe Gomez back involved in the first training session, but Klopp was far more cautious about the pair’s return dates.

The two defenders are still undergoing rehab with the fitness coach Andreas Schlumberger and they are only expected to feature in the full “double sessions” that Klopp has planned sometime within the “next four weeks”.
