Latest Liverpool Injury Report: Updates As Henderson And Gomez Withdraw From England Squad

England have confirmed that both Liverpool captain Jordan Henderson and defender Joe Gomez have withdrawn from the squad to face Kosovo on Sunday due to fitness concerns.

Henderson did not play against Montenegro on Thursday night because of suspension, but he is also suffering from a viral infection. The 29-year-old was also absent against Genk because of illness before playing 60 minutes against Manchester City, and it remains to be seen if he’ll be fit and available to face Crystal Palace next Saturday.

Gomez suffered a knock in training yesterday, and while it doesn’t appear to be a serious problem, he hasn’t recovered in time to play for England this weekend.

In terms of other injuries, Mo Salah remains a doubt to face Palace after aggravating an ankle injury in the 3-1 win over City. There is no estimated return date for the Egyptian international.

Xherdan Shaqiri (calf), Andy Robertson (ankle) and Joel Matip (knee) are all still on the treatment table, along with Nathaniel Clyne, who continues his rehabilitation from an ACL injury.
