Latest Liverpool Injury Report: Updates On Alisson, Jota And 4 Other Players

Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp has confirmed that Alisson Becker will not be available for this weekend’s game against Manchester City in the Community Shield.

The Brazilian international has been sidelined with an abdominal problem and, while there had been suggestions that he could soon return to fitness, the keeper has now been ruled out.

Caoimhin Kelleher would have been favourite to deputise for Alisson, but the Irishman has not featured for the Reds after picking up his own injury during pre-season.

Diogo Jota is expected to be unavailable for the start of the campaign, with the forward having suffered a setback in his recovery from a hamstring issue he sustained on international duty last month.

Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain has a muscular injury that will keep him out for a number of weeks, while fullbacks Calvin Ramsey and Kostas Tsimikas are both carrying knocks which make them doubts for Saturday’s game at the King Power Stadium.
