Latest Liverpool Injury Report: Updates On Keita, Thiago, Milner And Fabinho

Liverpool midfielder Naby Keita has only suffered bruising after being stretchered off in the 5-0 win over Manchester United at the weekend.

There were concerns that the Guinean may have broken a bone after the two-footed lunge from Paul Pogba, who was sent off following the challenge. However, Keita will likely be back in contention very soon.

Thiago Alcantara is still nursing a calf issue and only has an outside chance of playing against Brighton at the weekend. He could, though, be back to face Atletico Madrid next week.

James Milner sustained a hamstring injury in the first half at Old Trafford on Sunday and he has been ruled out until after the next international break.

Fabinho has not recovered from a knee problem in time to face Preston North End in the Carabao Cup tomorrow and he is now in a race to be fit for the Brighton match.

Caoimhin Kelleher (illness) is a doubt for the trip to Deepdale, while Kaide Gordon is unlikely to feature, having not played for the Under 23s in recent weeks.

Harvey Elliott is on the course to make his return from a dislocated ankle in the New Year having stepped up his rehabilitation in the swimming pool.
