Latest Liverpool Injury Report: Updates On Matip, Keita And Van Dijk

Anfield Stadium

Liverpool defender Joel Matip is expected to be out for the next three weeks after sustaining an adductor injury in the 1-1 draw versus West Brom nine days ago.

Naby Keita was not in the squad for the Southampton game last night, and manager Jurgen Klopp has previously stated he doesn’t know how long the Guinean will be out for after picking up a muscular problem ahead of the match against the Baggies.

Virgil van Dijk has been sharing videos of himself in rehabilitation as he works his way back to fitness following an ACL injury. The Dutchman is still expected to miss most of the season but the signs are good that he could make a quicker than expected recovery.

Diogo Jota is likely to return from a knee problem at the beginning of next month, with Kostas Tsimikas (knee) also expected to make his comeback at the same time.

Joe Gomez has yet to be pictured in rehab and it does seem as though his recovery from a long-term knee injury may take longer than anticipated.
