Latest Liverpool Injury Report: Updates On Milner And Fabinho

Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp has raised concerns about the fitness of James Milner after the Reds’ vice-captain limped off after just six minutes in the Merseyside club’s win over Everton in the FA Cup yesterday evening.

The 34-year-old suffered a muscular injury in the early stages of the 1-0 victory at Anfield, and Klopp says he is worried about the seriousness of the issue:

“Milner] has pain, that says it’s serious. It’s [his] muscle.”

There is better news on Fabinho, though. Before the Merseyside derby, Klopp confirmed that the Brazilian is now back out running on the training pitch, after being out since November with an ankle injury.

Naby Keita is set to undergo a scan on a groin problem that has kept him out of the games against Sheffield United and Everton. Joel Matip (knee) and Dejan Lovren (thigh) are both said to be progressing well in their recoveries but no return date has been set for the two centre-backs.

Xherdan Shaqiri (thigh) also remains sidelined, while Nathaniel Clyne is continuing his rehabilitation from an ACL injury.
