Latest team news ahead of the Merseyside derby!

Liverpool host Everton on Sunday in what promises to be yet another fiery Merseyside encounter.

The two sides have had very differing stories to tell so far this season, with Liverpool looking confident in the top 4 positions, while Everton will be bitterly disappointed with the league position they are in.

However, after back to back league victories for the Toffees, and as history would suggest in this fixture, it’s anyone’s game to win.

Liverpool have their share of injuries going into the game. Marko Grujic is unavailable after fracturing his finger, while Joel Matip and Nathaniel Clyne will also miss out with respective muscle and back injuries.

Joe Gomez had recently suffered from illness, but should be available in time for the game. Adam Bogdan remains out with an ACL knee injury.

Everton aren’t quite so fortunate though.

L Baines remains out with a calf strain, along with goalkeeper Steklenburg who is out with a groin strain.

Long term absentees Ross Barkley, Funes Mori, Seamus Coleman and Yannick Bolasie are all expected to be out until at least 2018.

James McCarthy could return in time from his hamstring injury.
