Lawrenson Makes His Prediction For Liverpool’s Game Against Fulham

Former Liverpool defender Mark Lawrenson is backing the Reds to get all three points against Fulham tomorrow afternoon.

The TV pundit thinks manager Jurgen Klopp will use the international break as motivation to get a big performance out of some tired players:

“This is the last game before the international break and, if Liverpool win, they go back to the top of the table.”

“That is a great incentive if they are tired from their efforts in Germany, and the message from the manager will be along the lines of ‘I want one last hit from you’.”

“I just cannot see Fulham getting anything against them, because they are not good enough defensively to keep them out.”

Lawrenson has gone for a 2-0 victory at Craven Cottage, putting the Reds back on top of the table with Manchester City playing in the FA Cup this weekend.

Although they would have played a game more, Liverpool will still be putting pressure back onto their title rivals with a win tomorrow.

Having points on the board is always better than having games in hand. It just so happens that City’s next game in the league is also away at Fulham following the international fixtures.

When the Reds come back, they will be facing Tottenham at Anfield in what could prove to be a defining match in their title challenge.

Klopp’s men won’t be getting too far ahead of themselves, though, and will just be focusing on getting the win they need against the Cottagers.
