Lawrenson Predicts ‘One Trick Pony’ Liverpool Will Turn Things Around Against Fulham

Former Liverpool star Mark Lawrenson has been heavily critical of the Reds’ display in the Champions League midweek.

The Merseysiders suffered a 2-0 defeat at the hands of Red Star Belgrade, and Lawro was not pleased by any aspect of the performance:

“From one to 11, they were ordinary and, as well as the fact they lost, the worrying thing for the Reds was that they looked like a one-trick pony.”

“They have not suddenly become a bad side, though. It is more that Jurgen Klopp tried to change his team around a little bit and it did not work.”

However, the ex-defender turned pundit is predicting a comfortable victory for Liverpool against Fulham today, with the Cottagers struggling in the league:

“The Cottagers are having a disastrous run that has seen them fall to the bottom of the table, and I think they will lose for a seventh successive game.”

It was a very poor performance from Liverpool midweek and manager Jurgen Klopp will want to see a much more vibrant attacking display at Anfield.

With Manchester City facing Manchester United later in the day, with the possibility of Ped Guardiola’s team dropping points, the Reds will want to secure a comfortable win ahead of the derby.

Fulham are on a terrible run, having lost their last five league games, conceding 16 goals in the process, and Liverpool will want to take advantage of their opponent’s lack of confidence this afternoon.
