Barcelona are weighing up whether to sign Liverpool striker Divock Origi as they look to strengthen their forward options in January, according to Sport.
The Catalan club don’t have a great deal to spend on new recruits and they have identified the Belgian, along with Torino’s Andrea Belotti and Napoli’s Lorenzo Insigne as potential targets.
Fans on Twitter can’t quite believe that Origi is being linked with Barca, despite his cult status at Anfield, with many claiming it sums up the La Liga team’s loss in status in recent years:
Let him go there as a undercover agent for us. 👍🤣

It must be said that the Sport article doesn’t claim that Origi is the top priority at the moment. Manchester City’s Raheem Sterling is the favoured option but Barca are aware how expensive a move for the England international could be.
Instead, Origi is someone they believe could be signed for between €15m (£12.75m) and €25m (£21.25m). Considering the Belgian’s contract expires next June, Liverpool would properly snap your hand off for a fee of that size.
