Liverpool fans are hoping it will be a birthday to remember for Sadio Mane this evening.
Mane turns 26 today, and will be hoping to make it an extra special occasion tonight when Liverpool take on Manchester City in the second leg of their Champions League quarter-final tie.
Jurgen Klopp’s men go into the fixture with a 3-0 advantage from the first leg.
Goals from Mohamed Salah, Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain and Mane himself see the Reds travel to the Etihad Stadium with one foot in the semi-finals, and Mane says he aiming to make it another night to remember for the Liverpool fans.
The former RB Salzburg man said: “We are a strong team, we are Liverpool. We’re going to try to do our best and qualify for the next round.”
Mane joined Liverpool from Southampton in the summer of 2016, and has since made 63 appearances, scoring 29 goals.
Sixteen of those have come this season in another fine campaign for the Senegal international, and the Liverpool fans are hoping he can make it an extra special birthday by adding another to his tally tonight …
