Ligue One Ace’s Manager Names Liverpool As One 5 PL Clubs Who Have ‘Made Contact’ About Signing Player

Liverpool are one of five Premier League teams who have registered an interest in signing Lille forward Victor Osimhen, according to the player’s personal manager Osita Okolo.

Although he isn’t the player’s agent, Okolo does reveal that the 21-year-old has not signed a contract with any club, but there are a number of interested parties:

“Napoli has not agreed a deal with Osimhen. All the mentioned clubs (Manchester United, Arsenal, Tottenham Hotspur, Liverpool and Chelsea) have made contact with him, but we will decide after his dad’s burial.”

Osimhen would certainly be an interesting alternative to Timo Werner after the Reds missed out on the German to Chelsea.

The Lille striker can play right across the front three, making him a better fit for what manager Jurgen Klopp is looking for in a forward.

However, the Nigerian would likely cost around the same price as Werner, and it remains to be seen whether Liverpool do, in fact, have the funds, to invest in such a transfer.

The fact that they refused to meet Werner’s £53m release clause indicates they don’t, but with Osimhen being three years younger, it may be seen as a better long term investment.
