Ligue One Side Plotting January Swoop For Liverpool Shot Stopper

Anfield Stadium

Nice are interested in signing Liverpool goalkeeper Simon Mignolet, according to reports in Belgium.

The Belgian international spoke out in the summer about his unhappiness after being refused a move away from Anfield.

Alisson was signed for £66m from Roma before the start of the season, and the Brazilian has played all but one match since his arrival.

Loris Karius was allowed to leave for Besiktas on loan meaning Reds boss Jurgen Klopp needed to keep Mignolet as the club’s number two.

However, the 30-year-old would likely be keen to move for more first-team football when the transfer window reopens in January.

Nice manager Patrick Vieira is reportedly unhappy with the goalkeepers currently in his squad and is said to be keen on recruiting Mignolet.

Whether Klopp would allow the Belgian to leave, it remains to be seen. The German needs a good understudy for Alisson and has already commented that Liverpool will not be active in the winter market.
