Liverpool forward Mo Salah has won the Premier League’s official player of the month award for October.

It was an incredible month for the Egyptian international, who scored five goals and provided four assists in only four games, including a memorable hat-trick in the 5-0 win over Manchester United.

Salah saw off the likes of Chelsea left-back Ben Chilwell, Manchester City’s Phil Foden, Southampton right-back Tino Livramento, Arsenal’s Aaron Ramsdale, West Ham’s Declan Rice, Burnley’s Maxwel Cornet and Leicester midfielder Youri Tielemans, to win the prize.

The 29-year-old’s nine goal involvements in October is the most of any player in a single month since December 2018, when a player managed ten. That was also Mo Salah.

He is currently the Premier League’s top goalscorer, having scored ten in total, three ahead of Leicester’s Jame Vardy for the Golden Boot. If he keeps going at this rate, he might yet surpass the 32 league goals he managed in his first season with the Reds.
