Liverpool agree fee with Chelsea for transfer of highly rated youngster

Chelsea and Liverpool have agreed a fee for the transfer of Dominic Solanke, a year after he left Stamford Bridge.

The young forward left Chelsea on a free transfer last summer for Anfield.

However due to his age, the Blues were owed compensation from Liverpool.

Talks between the two clubs last year resulted in no agreement and it was thought the case would have to be taken Professional Football Compensation Committee.

However it appears a settlement has now been agreed by the pair – negating the need for a tribunal.

A club spokesman told the Liverpool Echo: “The issue has been resolved between the clubs. We will have no further comment on the matter.”

It is not yet known how much the agreed fee is, however it is likely to be under the £10 million mark.

Liverpool had wanted to pay only £3 million for the 20-year-old forward last year, however Chelsea wanted double figures. The agreed fee is likely to fall in the middle of those two prices.

Solanke played 27 times for Liverpool last season, managing just one goal, however received his first international call-up for England back in November when the Three Lions took on Brazil at Wembley.
