Liverpool Among Six Clubs To Be Offered The Chance To Sign French World Cup Winner For Just 6M

The agent of Barcelona defender Samuel Umtiti has offered Liverpool the opportunity to sign the centre-back, according to reports in the UK.

Manchester United, Manchester City, Juventus, Lille and Lyon have also been contacted about signing the France World Cup winner, who could be available for just £6m.

However, it appears that Liverpool have already turned down the chance to snap up Umtiti. Undoubtedly, the 27-year-old’s poor injury record and sizeable wage demands would have played a part in that decision, but the impending arrival of Ibrahima Konate from RB Leipzig is likely to have been the main factor.

Reliable journalists, including Fabrizio Romano, believe that the 21-year-old’s move to Anfield is all but done, meaning the chances of the Merseyside club signing another centre-half this summer are very slim.

Whether Umtiti will end up in the Premier League, we shall have to wait and see. Previous reports have linked Arsenal with the defender, while there are also claims in Spain that Manchester City could also consider taking him to the Etihad.
