Liverpool are scouting Sporting Lisbon striker Gelson Dala, according to reports from Portugal.

The 22-year-old is currently on loan at Rio Ave but has started the season in good form, having scored twice and contributed one assist in four Primeira Liga games.

The Reds are not the only club tracking Dala. Bayern Munich and Nurnberg are also keeping tabs on the Angolan international.

At international level, he has already reached double figures, scoring his tenth goal for his country in the 1-0 win over Botswana in an African Cup of Nations qualifier last week.

Despite sending him out on loan, Sporting rate Dala very highly. It is believed that the striker has a €60m (£53.5m) release clause, and although it is unlikely a club would offer anywhere close to that figure, the Portuguese club would be reluctant to let the player leave.

Rio Ave face Sporting’s city rivals Benfica tomorrow and the Angolan is likely to start the match.
