Liverpool And Arsenal Among ‘Several Important Teams’ Keen On Signing 23 Year Old Midfielder

Liverpool and Arsenal are among “several important teams” interested in signing Norwich’s Todd Cantwell on a free transfer next summer, according to Fichajes.net.

The Spanish website claims that the 23-year-old has decided against extending his stay at Carrow Road and, with his current deal expiring in June, he is expected to leave the club he joined almost 15 years ago.

Cantwell has been on Liverpool’s radar in the past, and he did perform pretty well for the Canaries last campaign, helping them to promotion with six goals and seven assists in 33 league appearances.

However, considering he generally plays on the left wing, it seems unlikely that the Reds would have much use for him. They are well covered in that position with Sadio Mane and Diogo Jota in the squad.

Cantwell can play from the right-hand side too but, even there, manager Jurgen Klopp has plenty of options, with Harvey Elliott and Kaide Gordon coming through the ranks as potential successors to Mo Salah.
