Liverpool And Arsenal Are Trailing Serie A Giants In 29.5M Transfer Battle

AC Milan are currently favourites to sign Lille midfielder Renato Sanches, according to reports in the Italian media.

Both Liverpool and Arsenal were said to be interested in signing the Portuguese international last summer, but a knee injury ended the player’s hopes of a transfer before the end of August.

A move could be revived in January but Milan are said to be favoured by Sanches’ agent, Jorge Mendes, who feels that the Rossoneri would be a more suitable club for the 24-year-old.

It is believed that Lille would demand around €35m (£29.5m) for the midfielder, but the Ligue One side may be reluctant to let him leave midway through the season.

Liverpool are likely to be in the market next summer, if the likes of Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain and Naby Keita are sold with one year remaining on their contracts, but we shall see if they get involved in the battle for Sanches.
