Liverpool And Chelsea Eyeing Bargain Deal For French Under 18 Starlet

Liverpool have joined the race to sign Monaco midfielder Khephren Thuram, according to reports in the English media.

The 17-year-old, who is the son of World Cup winner Lilian, has yet to sign on to professional terms at his current club and will be available in the summer for a knockdown price.

Chelsea are also said to be monitoring Thuram’s situation, with Italian champions Juventus having scouted the player as well.

The French Under 18 international has already made his debut for Monaco’s senior side despite his young age. He came on during the 2-0 defeat to Atletico Madrid in the Champions League back in November.

Thuram then made his second appearance in the final group stage match against Dortmund, before playing his first game in domestic football during the penalty shootout defeat to Guingamp in the League Cup late last month.

Despite his first team experience, the holding midfielder is still only on a youth contract with the player and his father said to be weighing up their future options.
