“The surgery, which has now addressed the issue, means the 20-year-old will play no part in the remaining two fixtures of the 2017-18 campaign, or the World Cup finals with England.
“However, Gomez will be ready for the start of Liverpool’s pre-season training schedule in July following a rehabilitation period.”
Gomez also posted on his official Twitter account, saying: “Gutted to confirm that my season for both club and country is over…”
One of Liverpool’s and England’s brightest young talents, the fans are devastated to hear the news of his lengthy lay-off …
Joe Gomez still isn't old enough to drink in america, yet he performs at a decent level out of position for Liverpool having missed basically 2 seasons of football coming through the worst injury in football. Twice

Hats off to Joe Gomez for playing through the pain barrier before this ankle surgery.
Got so much abuse for his performances against West Brom and Stoke – hope people feel a little guilty for that now.

Shame on anyone who tore into Joe Gomez after West Brom and Stoke. First couple of games back after an injury at his age and in a much weakened back 4 and that's before you even consider he was still injured and playing through it.
