Liverpool And Spurs Told To Pay 43M If They Want To Land The New Sadio Mane

Liverpool and Tottenham will have to shell out €50m (£43m) if they want to snap up Rennes winger Jeremy Doku before the transfer window shuts, according to Jeunes Footeux.

The French website reports that the Belgian international has been a long-term target for the Reds but Spurs also recently came “knocking on the door,” with the London club keen on providing competition for Lucas Moura.

Rennes are said to be mindful of the fact that deadline day is fast approaching and they would be reluctant to let Doku leave as they may not be able to find a replacement in time.

Liverpool have scouted the 19-year-old for a number of years, with the player being tipped to be Sadio Mane’s long-term successor. However, the Belgian has turned down an offer from the Merseyside club in the past, as he felt he was not ready for such a big move.

After playing for Rennes in Ligue One last season, Doku may now feel he has the experience to make the step up but we shall see if any approach is made for him ahead of the transfer deadline.
