Liverpool And United Both Send Scouts To Watch 21 Year Old Dutch Star In Champions League Action

Liverpool are battling Manchester United for PSV Eindhoven winger Steven Bergwijn, according to reports in Holland.

It is believed that the two Premier League clubs had scouts at the Philips Stadion when the Dutch side faced Inter Milan in the Champions League on Wednesday night.

Bergwijn played the full 90 minutes but was unable to help as PSV slumped to a 2-1 home defeat to the Nerazzurri.

The wide man has really hit top form at the start of this season. He has already hit the back of the net five times in his first 13 games, just three behind his total for the whole of last campaign.

At 21 years of age, it looks as though Bergwijn will only get better and better. Netherlands manager Ronald Koeman named him in the national squad for the upcoming fixtures against Germany and Belgium with the Dutchman hoping to get his first senior cap.

The winger only signed a new four-year contract in August and PSV are likely to demand a sizeable fee for the player.
