Liverpool Dealt Setback In Race For £90m Rated French Speed Merchant

Barcelona will be keeping hold of Ousmane Dembele this summer, according to reports in the Spanish media.

There had been claims that Liverpool were interested in the Frenchman, with a £90m offer having been suggested, but it looks as though the winger won’t be leaving the Camp Nou.

Dembele’s future had been called into question with reports of Neymar possibly re-signing for Barca.

That had led to speculation that the Reds could make a bid for the player. The Merseyside club weren’t expected to make many moves in the transfer market this summer but the availability of the 22-year-old is said to have caught their eye.

However, it now appears that Barcelona have opted against pursuing Neymar and will keep faith with Dembele instead.

The France international struggled during his first season in Spain following a €105m switch from Borussia Dortmund in 2017 but he began to establish himself last campaign.

Dembele made 42 appearances in all competitions for Barca, scoring 14 goals and contributing nine assists.
