Liverpool dimiss Jack Grealish talks insisting he would ‘add nothing’ to the club

Liverpool have dismissed reports they are interested in signing Jack Grealish this summer, saying he would ‘add nothing’ to the club.

Grealish has been heavily linked with a move away from Aston Villa this summer after they failed to secure promotion back to the Premier League having lost to Fulham in the play-off final back in May.

Tottenham were reported to have submitted a £15 million bid for the youngster earlier this summer, however their offer was understood to be rebuffed by Villa, who are holding out for nearer to £25 million.

Chelsea and Manchester United have also been linked with Grealish.

And Liverpool are now the latest in the growing list of clubs touted to sign the Englishman, with The Mirror reporting that the Reds have contacted Villa ahead of striking a deal for the 22-year-old.

Such reports however have been quickly dismissed by sources close to the club.

Neil Jones, the Liverpool correspondent for Goal.com, reports the club had strongly denied talk of interest in the player. Adding to this, Jones said Grealish is ‘not seen as a player who would add anything in terms of quality or personality’.

Scathing. Fair to say it’s unlikely we will be seeing Grealish at Anfield next term.
