Liverpool have made an enquiry about signing Wolves winger Adama Traore, according to reports in the English media. The 24-year-old is being eyed by manager Jurgen Klopp as a potential candidate to strengthen his squad ahead of next season.
The Spaniard is apparently interested in making a move to Anfield but the main stumbling block to any deal happening will be Wolves’ sky-high valuation of the player.
Despite signing Traore from Middlesbrough for £18m two years ago, there are reports that the Midlands club are now demanding as much as £70m for the winger.
Whether that asking price will be lowered considering the current financial climate, it remains to be seen, but Wolves are not in a position where they need to sell players.
Considering Liverpool baulked at Timo Werner’s £53m release clause, it does seem highly unlikely that they would push the boat out even further in order to sign Traore.
