Liverpool are tracking Benfica midfielder Gedson Fernandes, according to Onze Mondial.

The French magazine reports that the 20-year-old is being scouted by the Reds, along with his teammate Joao Felix.

Fernandes only made his senior debut last season, starting the 1-0 win over Fenerbahce in a Champions League qualifier back in early August.

He went on to make 46 appearances in all competitions for Benfica, scoring three goals and providing six assists.

Fernandes also made his first appearance for Portugal at senior level when he made a cameo against Croatia in a friendly back in September.

This summer, he has also featured at the Under 20 World Cup, playing all three group matches as Portugal failed to make it to the knockout stages.

Tottenham and Manchester United have also been linked with Fernandes in recent months, with reports claiming the midfielder is valued at £35m by Benfica.

Spurs’s pursuit of Lyon’s Tanguy Ndombele could, however, see them leave the race for the Portuguese starlet, making Liverpool firm favourites.
