Liverpool fans are delighted with the news that Naby Keita could be available for Sunday’s trip to Manchester City after he suffered a back injury in mid-week.
Keita was taken to hospital on Wednesday after complaining of back pain during the 1-0 Champions League defeat by Napoli.
The Guinean, 23, went down unchallenged after just 19 minutes, before being stretchered off the field and replaced by Jordan Henderson.
He was then taken to a local hospital, where he was assessed by club doctors. He returned to Anfield with the rest of the squad yesterday.
It was originally feared the injury could be serious, however Sky Sports now report Keita is ‘fine’, and that Jurgen Klopp has refused to rule out the midfielder featuring against Manchester City this weekend.
Liverpool welcome City to Anfield on Sunday afternoon as they battle out for top spot in the Premier League.
Both sides remain unbeaten in the league this season, having won six and drawn one of their seven games so far.
The news of Keita’s potential inclusion has come as a huge boost for Liverpool fans, who will be hoping the Reds can repeat the feats of last season and again come out on top against the Premier League champions …
