Liverpool Handed Big Boost As UEFA Make Major Decision

UEFA have decided to postpone the European Championships until 2021. This could have an impact on Liverpool’s chances of winning the Premier League title as it will now give more time for domestic competitions to be completed.

European Leagues were due to be finished before Euro 2020, which had a June 12th start date, but the postponement will allow for more time for domestic fixtures to be played.

Games have been postponed until the start of April due to the Coronavirus outbreak and with the pandemic expected to worsen, the resumption of competitions could be delayed even further.

Whether extending the cut-off point until the end of June will be enough, though, it does seem doubtful, and we will only know more about the Premier League’s plans when the 20 clubs meet on Thursday for another emergency meeting.

It is unlikely that the teams will decide to make the season “null and void” as some have suggested but they will be considering a number of different options for how the season can be completed.
