Liverpool Handed Big Injury Boost Ahead Of Palace Clash

Liverpool defender Joe Gomez is winning his battle to be fit for the Reds’ match against Crystal Palace, according to reports in the local media.

The 22-year-old had to pull out of England duty after the centre-back injured his knee during a clash in training last week. However, it seems he will be in the squad that travels to Selhurst Park this weekend.

With Joel Matip still a doubt with his own knee injury, manager Jurgen Klopp will be glad if he can call upon the services of Gomez.

Dejan Lovren is likely to keep his place alongside Virgil van Dijk in the starting eleven to face the Eagles, but the Reds will need cover in a number of other positions.

Andy Robertson (ankle) could miss out on the game due to an ankle problem, meaning Gomez will probably be required to backup James Milner at left-back, as well as providing a different option to Trent Alexander-Arnold on the right-hand side.
