Liverpool Handed Boost In Race To Sign World Cup Winning Midfielder

Brighton manager Roberto De Zerbi has admitted that the Seagulls could lose several key players in the summer – including Liverpool transfer target Alexis Mac Allister [via TalkSPORT].

In an interview with Sky Sports (featured on TalkSPORT), De Zerbi said: “For sure we will lose some players, maybe Caicedo and Mac Allister. We have to be ready to bring in more good players and for the others; Mitoma, Estupinan, I think for them the best solution is to stay with us.

“I don’t know if they are ready to play in the big teams. You have to arrive ready in the head. We can offer them the possibility to progress and to improve.”

According to recent reports, Liverpool are very keen to bring Mac Allister on board. They are believed to be lining up a bid for the Argentinian midfielder which could amount to £70 million.

Liverpool aren’t the only team who are interested in signing Mac Allister, however. Both Manchester United and Arsenal are also keeping tabs on the World Cup winner.

The current season has been a particularly fruitful one for the 24-year-old. So far in the Premier League, Mac Allister has scored ten goals, alongside a solitary assist.

The Reds are in desperate need of energetic midfielders – Mac Allister would be a fantastic addition to the squad at Anfield.
