Liverpool Handed Major Transfer Boost As Rival Club Rule Out Move For Jude Bellingham

Bayern Munich chief executive Oliver Kahn has distanced the Bundesliga champions from making a bid for Borussia Dortmund midfielder Jude Bellingham.

A host of Premier Leagues clubs, including Liverpool, Chelsea, Manchester United and Manchester City are keen on recruiting the 19-year-old but, when asked whether Bayern would also get involved in the battle for the player, Kahn replied:

“Of course, I think Bellingham is an outstanding player. With (Joshua) Kimmich, (Leon) Goretzka, (Marcel) Sabitzer and (Ryan) Gravenberch, however, we are very well equipped in that position. So we’re not thinking about that at all.”

Bayern were never believed to be frontrunners for Bellingham’s signature anyway, with the England international expected to either return to England or join Real Madrid next summer.

Liverpool’s own chances of signing the player do hinge on Dortmund not setting an outrageous price tag for the midfielder, although the amount of interest being shown in him suggests that might not be a realistic expectation.

Ironically, the Reds are reportedly considering one of Bayern’s players, Jamal Musiala, as the main alternative to Bellingham, although the Bundesliga side are very reluctant to lose the German playmaker.
