Liverpool Handed Triple Boost As Club’s Injury Crisis Begins To Ease Slightly

Liverpool are optimistic that captain Jordan Henderson will be fit to face Leicester City on Sunday, according to the Liverpool Echo. The 30-year-old had to be substituted at half-time in England’s 2-0 defeat to Belgium last weekend due to a tight hamstring. He is still undergoing treatment but there is now hope he will be named in the matchday squad.

Fabinho is also close to making his comeback from his own hamstring problem, reports suggest. The Brazilian has been sidelined for a month after pulling up in the 2-0 win over FC Midtjylland and, even though he is still not in first-team training, his recovery is going well.

Considering the lack of centre-halves, no risks will be taken on his comeback so he’s unlikely to feature against Leicester as they look to get the 27-year-old back to full fitness.

Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain has not played this season after sustaining a knee injury but there is now light at the end of the tunnel for the midfielder, with it being claimed he will be back in action within the next three weeks.
