Liverpool Hold ‘Strong’ Interest In 85M Rated Euro 2020 Star But Could Face Battle From 2 Other Teams

Liverpool have retained a “strong” interest in Juventus winger Federico Chiesa, according to Calciomercato.com.

The Reds and Chelsea were linked with €100m (£85m) bids for the Italian international over the summer and it is believed that both clubs are still keen on securing the 23-year-old’s services, along with Bayern Munich.

Chiesa was outstanding at the European Championships back in June and July, and it appears Juventus’s fall from grace in Serie A has encouraged teams in their pursuit of the forward.

However, Calciomercato report that Juve are not willing to let Chiesa leave, deeming the Italian as “untouchable,” with the club still having not signed him on a permanent basis from Fiorentina.

Chiesa is effectively still on loan until the end of the season, when the Bianconeri will have to pay €40m (£34m), on top of the final instalment of a €7m (£6m) loan fee.

It means the likes of Liverpool are highly unlikely to be able to snap up the winger; at least not until next summer when he officially becomes a Juventus player.
