Liverpool goalkeeper Alisson has been ruled out of action until at least mid-to-late November thanks to a hamstring issue he suffered last weekend.
The Brazilian had to be taken off during Liverpool’s 1-0 win over Crystal Palace as he stretched his hamstring to a point of discomfort whilst clearing a ball out of his box.
It means that Liverpool backup Caoimhin Kelleher will likely step in for the next run of fixtures where the Reds have to face Chelsea, Arsenal and Manchester City.
Arne Slot said: “What we do know is that if a player walks off like he did, I don’t expect him to be in the team in the first game we play after [the international break].
“We have to wait and see, but it is going to take a few weeks, I assume, for him to be back.”
Expected return date – Sunday 24 November vs Southampton (A)
Alexis MacAllister
Midfielder MacAllister also had to be replaced during Liverpool’s game against Crystal Palace as he suffered an issue in his groin which could make him unavailable for Argentina during the international break.
Although, he has travelled with the squad for the break.
Following the Palace game, Arne Slot said: “He went off because of an injury. How bad? It is difficult for me to judge. He could have continued playing… but he didn’t think it was good to because you never know if you will make it worse.
“Can he go to Argentina? That is difficult for me to tell you.”
MacAllister isn’t expected to be out for a lengthy period of time, however, it is unclear as of yet, how soon he will return for Liverpool after the international break.
Expected return date – Unknown
