Liverpool head coach Arne Slot says he would like to keep Trent Alexander-Arnold wrapped up in cotton wool rather than use him against Real Madrid.
The vice-captain is back in training but, speaking about the player before the Champions League fixture on Wednesday night, Slot said:
“Trent is in the squad but he will not be available to start. He can maybe make a few minutes, in an ideal world he maybe doesn’t, but if it is really necessary he can make a few minutes but he is not going to start.”
Fans will be hoping he will be ready to play from the start against Manchester City this weekend.
