Liverpool defender Trent Alexander-Arnold was forced to withdraw from Lee Carsley’s final England squad with an injury.
The full-back suffered a hamstring issue during Liverpool’s last game which was a 2-0 win against Aston Villa at Anfield. He had to be substituted in the 25th minute of the game for Conor Bradley.
He will miss the international break with the England team meaning that his next appearance for the Three Lions will come when new manager Thomas Tuchel will be in charge of the team.
After the game, Liverpool boss Arne Slot said: “It’s difficult to say how serious it is, but it’s always serious if a player goes out in the first half. That’s not a good sign.”
He will spend the rest of the international break trying to recover and return for Liverpool’s next game which comes against Southampton in the Premier League.
Expected return date – Unknown
Harvey Elliot
Midfielder Harvey Elliot has been sitting on the side lines for over two months with an ankle issue, however he is looking very close to a return for the Reds after the international break.
The 21-year-old is back in full training and should, if all goes well, be available to Arne Slot for selection against Southampton next time out.
Expected return date – Sunday 24 November vs Southampton (A)
